From what i saw from the preview on Square Enix's Japanese site, we meet an old friend, Zack, whom we were first introduced to in Final Fantasy VII during Cloud's recap of the tragic events in Nibelheim. This game takes way back then before the demise of Zack, and we get a peek of his romance with Aeris.

 

This game once again takes us back to familiar places such as the church, Midgar and Nibelheim, making me feel certain when I first played Final Fantasy VII, i had come in the middle of a story, and that there was more to this place and the background stories than at first appeared.
